Wallets

Wallets have been used for centuries. Recorded as early as the 14th century, wallets have

evolved into tiny pieces of leather to hold paper money, yet leather-making techniques are said to have
dated back to about 79 A.D. Wallets were originally made to hold food and coins. This was back in the
fourteenth century in Greece. They literally used wallets to hold their lunch for the day… This is a lot
different that what we use wallets for now. Around the 19th century, people started to use
wallets for tobacco and smoking accessories. Wallets have only recently become what we know them as today. In the 20th century, wallets were finally put into small, pocket-sized forms.

I chose wallets as a topic because the main character’s father in “The Teacher Who Changed My Life” had a picture in his wallet that he carried everywhere. The main character found his father’s picture in the wallet on the day he died. This carries significance that his father would carry his wallet with him wherever he went.

  1. very nice work on this blog talk a lot about the teacher who changed my life but why did you talk about wallets? But overall great work!

    1. I talked about wallets because the main character’s dad had a picture in his wallet, he showed everyone he met. On the day he died, his wallet was still found on him with the same picture in it.
